I love having lots of brightly colored jars of fruit in my pantry.
It gives me hundreds of options when it comes to snacks and baking desserts and breakfast goodies.
And it looks really pretty, too. Like a rainbow in jars. 🙂
People ask me all the time “What’s the easiest fruit canning recipes to start with?”
And I start giving them a list of all. the. things.
Because canning isn’t hard, y’all!
But I sat down and put on my thinking cap.
And I came up with this list of the 5 all-time easiest fruits to can.
These spiced plums taste delicious and look so pretty. It might not look easy, but it's so simple to make the syrup and then just put the stuff into the jars. Not a lot of prep work other than pitting the plums. Simple AND amazingly good! This one is simplicity itself. You don't even have to put the cherries. Just wash and remove them stems. Heat up the apple cider and put it all in the jars. Such a different take on cherries then just the normal pie filling. Another one that's so stinkin easy! Put the berries in the jar. Put the water or syrup in the jar. Process the jar. And another one that is so pretty to look at on the shelves! I use these for all kinds of thing. Pie filling, muffins, pancakes, coffee cakes, cobblers... What ever you can put fruit in, I've put these in! 🙂 Peaches...summer in a jar! You can process these in plain or spiced syrup. They make amazing pies, cobblers and crisps, and are great just to eat out of the jar. And the spiced variety makes an amazing topping for homemade vanilla ice cream... Canned rhubarb lends itself to so many different baked goods, it's hard to know where to start. Crumbles, crisps, cobblers, coffee cakes, muffins... You get the picture.5 Easy Fruit Canning Recipes
You will never regret adding to your food storage! Especially when it’s pretty…lol
